Paneer Paratha/ Cottage cheese stuffed Indian whole wheat bread

A tasty and filling protein rich paratha recipe stuffed with crumbled paneer and spices. Paneer parathas make a perfect lunch box recipe for the kids and adults alike. These parathas go well with curds, lime pickleamla pickle.


Wheat flour - 2 cups
Oil- 2 tbsp
Water as needed

Paneer grated- 250 gms
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Onion, chopped- 1 no
chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- a pinch
Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tbsp
Oil -2 tsp
Salt as needed

Method for preparing dough

Combine 2 cups of wheat flour, 2 tbsp oil and salt in a large bowl. Add enough water in small quantities  and knead softly under you get a smooth dough like chapathi dough. Add 1 tsp of oil on the surface of the prepared dough. Cover the dough with a wet muslin cloth. Keep aside for 15 to 30 minutes.

Method for making filling

Crumble paneer well with your hands. Heat 2 tsp of  oil in a pan. Splutter cumin seeds, then add chopped onions and saute well . When the onion turns pink in colour, add chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala, Add crumbled paneer, coriander leaves and salt. Mix well. Now switch off the stove.

Method of making Paratha

Divide the dough into 10 equal parts. Roll it out into small balls. Now add 1 tbsp of filling in the center and close it from all sides. Now dust wheat flour and roll it out gently with the stuffing. Heat a tawa and place the rolled parathas on it. When the surface of paratha starts to fluff up a bit, apply 1 tsp of oil or ghee on top and flip it on other side. Cook till it is done. Similarly cook all the parathas. Serve hot.

Wheat Orotti / Wheat flatbread

This healthy and easy wheat flatbread is made with few ingredients. Do try it for your breakfast and dinner


Wheat powder - 2 cups

Onion chopped - 1/4 cup

green chillies - 2 tsp

grated coconut - 1/4 cup

curry leaves chopped - 1 tsp

salt as needed

ghee as needed


Mix wheat powder, onion, green chillies, grated coconut, curry leaves and salt to make a loose dough (slightly thinner than chapathi dough, but not like dosa batter) by adding water.

Heat tawa and smear some ghee. Take some dough in your hands and press on to the tawa and shape them. Fry on both sides. Serve hot with curries, chutneys or pickles.

Andhra special dosa

Rava      - 1 cup

Maida    - 1 cup

Wheat flour  - 1 cup

Rice flour     - 4 cups

Besan         - 1 tbsp

Curd         - 1/2 cup

Green chill  - 3 nos

Ginger        - 1 inch piece

Cumin seeds   - 2 tsp

Salt  as needed

Water       - 5 - 51/2 cups


Sift maida, rava, wheat flour, rice flour and besan. Now add curd, green chili paste, ginger paste, cumin seeds and salt. Mix well with water to make a dosa batter. Keep this for four to five hours. Heat a non stick tawa.Pour dosa batter. Sprinkle oil on the sides of  dosa. When the sides turn brown dosa is ready.Serve hot with chutny or sambar.

Wheat battura


Wheat flour  - 1/2 kg

eggs      - 2 nos

Ghee       - 4 tbsp

Curd        - 2 tbsp

Salt as needed

Sugar       - 2 tsp

Soda bicarbonate      - 1 tsp

Milk        - 1/2 cup

Oil for fry


Mix wheat flour eggs, ghee, curd, salt , sugar,bicarbonate of soda and milk with your hands to make a dough that  resembles chapati dough. Now place this dough for two hours covered with a wet cloth. After two hours roll the dough to make batturas .The size of the battura should be little bigger than pooris. Fry batturas in hot oil. Press the batturas with a spoon while frying to get puffy battura. Serve with chana masala.

Vegetable mixed parathas

For the stuffing
Beans, cauliflower, green peas - 1 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Coriander chopped - 2 tbsp
Green chillies chopped - 2 nos
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Salt as needed

For the dough
Maida - 1 cup
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Ghee as needed

Heat oil in a pan, add the vegetables and cook in medium heat. Sprinkle water if necessary for the vegetables to get cooked. Now add coriander chopped, green chillies chopped, chilli powder, and salt to this. Vegetable stuffing is ready.

Mix maida, wheat flour, oil, salt, water. Knead them into a soft dough. Make 9-10 balls out of it. Roll this into thin parathas. Now place 1 tsp of stuffing in the centre, fold it from 4 sides, and roll them to make soft thin veg parathas.

Heat ghee in a tawa, fry this parathas on both sides.

Serve mixed veg parathas along with raita and pickle.

Irachi Pathiri / Meat stuffed roti

Ingredients 1:
Beef - 300 gm
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Meat masala - 1 tsp

Ingredients 2:
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Refined oil - 1 tbsp

Ingredients 3:
Green chillies - 3 nos
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Garlic - 8 cloves

Ingredients 4:
Shallots - 6 nos
Salt as needed

Ingredients 5:
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp

Ingredients 6:
Curry leaves - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tsp

Ingredients 7:
Wheat flour - 1 cup
Maida - 1 cup
Salt as needed

Ingredient 8:
Oil for frying

Cook first ingredients. After that mince it well.

Heat refined oil and ghee together, add ingredients 3 and ingredients 4 and saute well. When the shallots turn pink, add the cooked meat and garam masala powder and fry them well. Add ingredients 6 at this stage.

Mix ingredients 7 to make pooris. Make balls to make pooris. Roll the poori balls and stuff them with the minced beef mixture from above and roll it again. Deep fry the pooris. Irachi pathiri ready.
